A Stormy Night in Aberdeen

A Stormy Night in Aberdeen

On the evening of December 21, 1982, a severe storm swept through Aberdeen, Washington, with winds reaching up to 70 miles per hour. The tempestuous weather caused significant damage and claimed the lives of two individuals in the area. Amidst this chaos, young Tyler disappeared from his family's second-floor apartment on East Madison Street, near the Wishkah River.Websleuths+1Charley Project+1The Daily World+3Charley Project+3Websleuths+3

Tyler's mother, Sherrie Inman, had left him and his five-year-old sister in the care of her boyfriend, Jeff Green, while she attended a bingo game. Earlier that evening, a teenage babysitter had been watching the children but was relieved by Green around 8:00 p.m. At some point during the evening, Green left the apartment for approximately 20 minutes to retrieve a boat from the nearby river. When Sherrie returned home at 10:20 p.m., she discovered that Tyler was missing.Charley Project+3Websleuths+3rcccmcc.com+3Charley Project+2rcccmcc.com+2Websleuths+2The Daily World+3Charley Project+3Websleuths+3

Initial Theories and Search Efforts

Given the proximity of the apartment to the Wishkah River and the severity of the storm, authorities initially theorized that Tyler had wandered outside and fallen into the river, leading to his presumed drowning. Extensive search efforts were conducted in the river and surrounding areas, but no trace of Tyler was found.Charley Project+2rcccmcc.com+2Websleuths+2

Over time, inconsistencies in witness statements and the lack of physical evidence led investigators to reconsider the initial theory. Some reports suggested that Tyler was last seen in his bed, casting doubt on the idea that he had left the apartment on his own. The case was eventually reclassified as a non-family abduction. The Daily World+3Websleuths+3Charley Project+3

Distinctive Features and Age Progression

At the time of his disappearance, Tyler was described as a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, standing 2 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 32 pounds. He had several distinguishing features, including multiple warts on his right foot, extra skin on his right ear, and a cauliflower deformity on his left ear.Websleuths+3rcccmcc.com+3Charley Project+3Charley Project+6Fox 13 Seattle+6missingkids.org+6

In an effort to aid in the search, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children released an age-progressed image of Tyler, depicting how he might have looked at age 34. This image has been circulated widely in hopes of generating new leads.Fox 13 Seattle+2rcccmcc.com+2Charley Project+2
